“The Ultimate Fighter 23” winner Andrew Sanchez is a new addition to the PFL5 card taking place June 21 in Salt Lake City.
Sanchez replaces Laurinas Arbonavicious and will face Karl Albreksson in a light heavyweight bout at this event. PFL recently announced this change. The organization also announced two other matches on the card. Anthony Romero vs. Sergio Casio at lightweight, and Brian Zurcher vs. Julian Ruiz at featherweight.
PFL 5 will be held at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City and will feature the second batch of regular season light heavyweight and lightweight matches. The highlight of the card is the 155-pound matchup between Clay Collard and Mats Burnell.
Sanchez made his promotional debut in June 2023 with a split decision victory over Taylor-Johnson. “El Darte” went 5-5 during his UFC stint from 2016 to 2021, with notable wins over Khalil Rountree, Trevor Smith, and Marc-Andre Barriault.
Sweden’s Albrektsson will be making his PFL debut. The 30-year-old has a career record of 14-5, competing for organizations such as Bellator MMA and Rizin Fighting Federation.
