A press conference in Dublin that was supposed to begin promotion for UFC 303’s main event, Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler, has been postponed.
UFC announced the news on social media on Sunday night. The press conference was scheduled to take place on Monday at 12pm ET/9am PST at the 3Arena in Dublin. No reason was given for the postponement.
“The press conference scheduled for Monday, June 3 at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland has been postponed until further notice,” UFC said in a statement. “We sincerely apologize to the fans who planned to attend, and will provide more information on a new date and time as soon as we have it.”
During Saturday’s UFC 302 post-fight press conference, UFC CEO Dana White revealed to media that he plans to fly to Ireland to meet with McGregor on Sunday.
UFC 303 will take place on June 29 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with McGregor and Chandler facing off in a five-round, 170-pound main event. The two fighters previously worked together on “The Ultimate Fighter 31,” but the highly anticipated bout has since been postponed for various reasons.
The event will mark former two-division champion McGregor’s first appearance inside the Octagon since breaking his leg in a loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.
