They have yet to meet in the Octagon, but that didn’t stop Brendan Allen and Marvin Vetri from brawling on Friday night.
Two UFC middleweight fighters got into a brawl on the casino floor following a PFL8 playoff card at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida, with multiple videos of the brawl posted to social media.
As reported by MMA Mania, the fight started with Vetri throwing a punch at UFC light heavyweight George Toccos, which prompted Allen to join the brawl and throw a punch at “The Italian Dream.”
Vetri appeared to be in good health in a video he posted to his Instagram story.
“One-armed Vetri is undefeated,” he wrote. “He misses nothing.”
Meanwhile, UFC CEO Dana White couldn’t help but criticize his rival organization in response to the incident.
“If it had taken place in the PFL, this would have been the best fight of the night,” White wrote to X.
Allen and Vetri were scheduled to meet at UFC Fight Night 240 in April, but Vetri withdrew due to injury. Vetri criticized Allen’s performance on social media, calling his fellow middleweight “dog poop.” Allen fired back in the post-fight press conference, calling the former title challenger “irrelevant.”
The win over Curtis extended Allen’s UFC winning streak to seven, while Vetri has not competed since losing a unanimous decision to Jared Cannonier in the main event of UFC on ESPN 47 in June 2023.
