Carlos Prattes and Karyn Williams seem destined to collide.
On Saturday, Prates won by second-round knockout against Jing-Liang Li on the main card of UFC 305 in Perth, Australia. Despite having three consecutive knockout wins at UFC, Prates then requested an “easy” bout with Williams before facing a higher-ranked opponent. Prates elaborated on this request, explaining that he was also hoping for an additional $50,000 bonus in case he did not receive one at UFC 305.
“I don’t know, but I think he’s a good opponent, he’s a striker,” Plates said in the post-match press conference. “To be honest, I’m about to buy my own house in Brazil, so if I don’t get my bonus today, I’ll definitely get it in December if I play against him. I have nothing personal against him, it’s just business, that’s the way it is.”
Prates ultimately earned a “Performance of the Night” bonus at UFC 305, also in his third UFC appearance, but the combat-experienced Williams didn’t shy away from answering the call from the Brazilian, with “Chaos the Ox Fighter” warning Prates that the call from the Brazilian might be too much for him to handle.
“I will always give my all to business,” Williams wrote on social media, “be careful what you ask for because you may find it’s not what you wanted. This is nothing personal, just a punishment.”
I always stand in business 😤 Be careful what you ask for, because after you get it you might realize it wasn’t what you wanted. This is nothing personal… it’s just punishment 😈

Prates is new to the UFC but has an unbeaten track record on the regional circuit since 2019. Williams, meanwhile, is currently 6-2 at UFC and is riding a two-fight winning streak that includes a brutal knockout win over Carlston Harris back in May of this year.
