The Professional Fighters League has officially announced the dates for Thursday’s PFL Super Fight: Battle of the Giants – Prepare to Shock press conference.
The PFL Battle of the Giants will feature two title bouts on October 19 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Francis Ngannou (17-3) will make his PFL debut against 2023 PFL Global Season heavyweight champion Renan Ferreira (13-3) for the newly minted PFL Super Fight Championship belt. The former Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight champion will be returning to mixed martial arts for the first time since January 2022 after fighting two major boxing matches during that period.
In the evening’s co-main event, WMMA legend Cristiane Justino (27-2) will make her Smart Cage debut in a title fight against PFL two-division champion Larissa Pacheco (23-4). Cyborg is undefeated throughout her Bellator tenure, with her last loss coming against fellow legend Amanda Nunes in 2018. Meanwhile, Pacheco’s last loss came against Kayla Harrison in 2019, and she avenged it in the final bout of the 2022 PFL women’s lightweight season, winning the featherweight title in 2023 to become a two-division champion.
The press conference will take place at 1pm ET on Thursday, August 22nd at The Anthem in Washington, D.C. The gathering will also feature PFL Superfight athlete Jake Paul and can be watched for free on Sherdog live in the player above.
