This November, it’s veteran-versus-veteran violence as two longtime favorites with more than 30 fights each go head-to-head in the cage at the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
According to Wednesday Night MMA Fighting, Jim Miller (37-18, 1 NC) is scheduled to go toe-to-toe with Damon Jackson (23-7-1, 1 NC) at UFC 309. Two lightweights, Jackson returning from 145 pounds. will be held at Madison Square Garden in New York on November 16th. Shortly after the news broke late Wednesday, Miller and Jackson confirmed the pairing on their respective Instagram pages.
Miller, 41, ended his two-game completion streak in April when he fell behind Bobby Green on the scorecards. Prior to his loss, the New Jersey native crushed Jesse Butler with one punch in 2023 and delivered a facecrank submission to Gabriel Benitez in January. Miller, now known as “A-10,” holds UFC records for most wins (26) and most appearances (44), while also holding the second-most finishes (18) and fourth-most fights. He also praised the later bonuses (15). The company has won numerous awards throughout its history.
This will be Jackson’s first appearance at 155 pounds since February 2018, when he put Chris Pecero to sleep with an arm triangle choke. Once known as “The Hill” but now nicknamed “Action,” Jackson moved to featherweight and gained weight class. He eventually returned to the UFC in 2020 after holding the Legacy Fighting Alliance strap. Jackson has struggled of late, winning just one of his last four fights, but Alexander Hernandez, who recently defeated Miller, as well as Pat Sabatini and Mirsad Bektic are in the promotion.
UFC 309 will take place on November 16th at Madison Square Garden in New York and will be headlined by the highly anticipated heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic.
