Video of Mike Perry’s recent DUI arrest shows the BKFC star acting in a hostile manner and using derogatory language towards police officers.
Perry was stopped by Clermont (Florida) police on October 12 for speeding. Body camera footage obtained by TMZ Sports shows Perry initially becoming agitated toward an officer when questioned about his drinking.
“Well, you’re talking a little slow. When I got here, I could smell it coming from this side,” the officer said.
“Well, you talk a little too fast,” Perry replied.
“Can I talk a little bit quickly?” says the official. “Okay, I’ll slow down for you. Is that better?”
Perry is then asked to exit the car. Perry refuses a breathalyzer test and is arrested. At that point, Perry spoke to his wife, who was a passenger in the car, and used a homophobic slur when referring to the police officer.
“Ratley, I’m under arrest because I didn’t do anything reckless like take a breathalyzer test,” Perry told his wife. “So relax, honey, I’ll be home soon. They know exactly who I am. They’re mad. Fuck, fuck, some shit. They kinda We’re a couple, forget that.”
After handcuffing Perry, the officer removes a receipt from his pocket, prompting more hostile words from the BKFC star.
“Mom, look at that receipt,” Perry said. “Your wife can’t afford that kind of money. How about that, hmm? Post that on Instagram. Hmm, hmm. You guys are a bit of a couple.”
Perry was arrested and booked into jail on charges of driving under the influence and refusing to sign a summons to appear in court. He was released on $1,500 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on October 30th. Both charges are second-degree misdemeanors in Florida, and Perry could be sentenced to up to 60 days in jail. This was Perry’s first DUI violation, according to online records.
Perry has emerged as BKFC’s biggest star in recent years, compiling a 5-0 record during the promotion. He has notable wins over Michael Page, Eddie Alvarez, Luke Rockhold, and Thiago Alves in BKFC competition. Most recently, ‘Platinum’ lost a 6th round knockout to Jake Paul in a boxing match in July of this year.
Before achieving his bare-knuckle feat, Perry had a 7-8 record in the UFC from 2016 to 2021. His last appearance in the Octagon was at UFC on ABC 2, where he lost a unanimous decision to Daniel Rodriguez on April 10, 2021.
