Magomed Ankalaev, who is awaiting a light heavyweight title shot, has decided to take jabs at both Jon Jones and Alex Pereira on social media.
Jones will put his heavyweight title on the line against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 on Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York. Jones hinted at the possibility of retiring after UFC 309, but also made it clear that even if he remained active, he would not fight interim champion Tom Aspinall. “Bones” will instead focus on light heavyweight champion Pereira, who will also vacate the heavyweight title in that match.
Meanwhile, Ankalaev missed out on a chance to win the light heavyweight title despite being undefeated in his past 13 fights. Ankalaev recently started rallying for a fight against Pereira and Jones, even as he accused the latter of ducking.
Ankalaev wrote in X: “Jones doesn’t want to fight Aspinall. Pereira is recovering and I’m hungry.” “I would beat Pereira, then I could beat Jones.”

Ankalaev then pointed out that Jones lacked finishing while previously holding the light heavyweight title.
“In fact, Jon Jones just [two] It ended in the last 10 years,” Ankalaev wrote. “He went too. [a five-round decision] and [Ovince St. Preux]”
In fact, Jon Jones has only finished second in the last 10 years, even going as far as a 5th round decision at OSP.

Ankalaev continued to post about Jones and Pereira on social media, mocking one of them for wearing shorts with ducks on them.
Jones dismissed Ankalaev’s comments and challenged the Russian to break some records before launching into criticism.
“Magomed, jealousy will not earn you legendary status, my friend,” Jones wrote. “Train harder and hate less. Do you really want to insult me? Let’s start by breaking some of my records. Let’s get started.”
