The only newcomer to the card for Saturday’s UFC 309 in New York City is featherweight Roberto Romero, who has entered on short notice to face David Onama.
Onama was originally scheduled to face Lucas Almeida. Luckily for him, Mexico’s Romero was willing to step in and was able to make weight on Friday.
The match started with a nice right hand and leg kick from Romero. He quickly attacked the inner thighs of her pussy. Onama was calmer than before, and the reaction when landing was also louder. But Romero was ripping that lead leg kick and was giving Onama problems. Onama didn’t just target the legs, he also landed some good kicks to the body.
As the round continues, Romero has no respect for his opponent and drops his dick with a huge left hand! Although he was at a disadvantage at one point, Onama stood up. Onama uses a front choke to get off the fence. With a minute left, the two sides parted ways and both started trading. Romeo supported her with his left hand, and immediately after that, he put his right hand on her. With seconds left, Onama took a good left shot, and then Romero took a right shot.
In the second round, Romero returned to leg kicks. The two dragged each other into a scuffle where anyone could fall at any time. Romero was aggressive and Onama was trying to pick with a jab and a left hand. Romero was getting hit harder and harder as the thud of his punches could be heard. Romero was good at moving his head while moving forward. As he was throwing, Onama was hitting him. Romero tries a spinning elbow but misses and falls on his back. Romeo was visibly gassed, which was to be expected considering he was rushed into the match. Onama was able to maintain the top spot until the final bell after an action-packed round.
The final round started with Romero not putting enough pressure on the action, similar to the other two rounds. Onama landed a nice combination to the body. Onama was feeling herself as she meowed at Romero. Romero complied and stepped forward. Romero landed a head kick, but Onama took advantage and mounted him for a takedown. Onama wasn’t doing much damage and Romero was able to pick up his guard. Onama then started hitting short elbows and starting to position himself with punches. Romero tried to scramble with a leglock, but it didn’t work and he came off his back to end the fight.
The second fight of the night to this point was contested on scorecards, with David Onama winning all three bouts. Still, regardless of the outcome, it was a fun and entertaining fight, and not a bad one for Roberto Romero’s UFC debut.
