It took former RIZIN Fighting Federation featherweight champion Vougal Karamov just 28 seconds to make his triumphant return to the cage and eliminate his opponent Kazumasa Majima in the main event of RIZIN FF: Landmark Vol. 1. Saturday 10th, Nagoya. Karamov dropped Majima with a right hook in the opening seconds of the fight, then finished him off with punches and elbows on the ground, earning him a decisive victory that put him back in title contention.
Karamov (20-5, 6-2 RIZIN) lost his featherweight title a year ago in Landmark Vol. He was jailed in his native Azerbaijan earlier this year for “hooliganism” and was forced to sit out the competition for most of 2024. Saturday’s return match was an important one for the 32-year-old, who quickly destroyed Mashima (17-6, 3-5 RIZIN), who had won three of his previous four matches. After the quick victory, Karamov issued a challenge to current RIZIN champion Chihiro Suzuki, who defeated Karamov in November 2023, and Kleber Koike Erbst. Suzuki and Koike will compete for the championship at next month’s RIZIN FF 49: Decade, but Karamov will be hoping he will be the next to challenge the winner.

In the co-main event, former RIZIN two-time women’s super atomweight champion Ayaka Hamasaki used a mean Kimura to force Road FC titleholder Yoo Ri Shim into a 108-pound contest. Hamasaki (25-6, 11-4 RIZIN), who was sidelined with an injury earlier this year, showed no ill effects from tonight’s extended rest and was immediately replaced by Sim (6-5, 0-2 RIZIN). ) was defeated by KO. Leg sweep takedown early in their fight. Sim fought back to his feet and held up well with a straight right and two quick punch combinations.
Sim’s success with the legs didn’t last long, and Hamasaki immediately went for a takedown in the second stanza. Shim reversed and took Hamasaki’s back, but in the middle Hamasaki clung to Shim’s arm and rolled through with a kimura. She twisted Sim’s arm behind her back, forcing him to tap out at the 1:15 mark of the second round.
Hamasaki went into tonight’s match looking for an impressive win, having dropped three of his past four matches, including two against currently undefeated RIZIN champion Seika Izawa, but he was in a tough situation. I submitted a sim with great gameplay and got exactly that. Hamasaki, 42, is hoping to get another shot at the RIZIN title he previously held, but it remains to be seen whether he will be given another chance while Izawa retains the belt.

In the bantamweight division, Ryusei Ashizawa claimed his second consecutive win by stopping veteran Shoji Maruyama with a knee to the body early in the second round. Ashizawa (2-1, 2-1 RIZIN) established his jab in the first round and used it to keep the shorter Maruyama (17-18-1, 1-5 RIZIN) within punching range. prevented from entering. Maruyama landed some solid leg kicks, but Ashizawa was the better striker and Maruyama was unable to change the momentum of the round until he scored a takedown in the final moments.
The second round quickly devolved into a brawl, with both men throwing looping punches and Ashizawa panicking, forcing Maruyama to retreat to the edge of the cage. He then delivered a knee kick to Maruyama’s stomach, crushing the 41-year-old and ending the fight at 1:05 of the second round.
Tsuyoshi Kamiyama, known as “Sudario,” sliced his opponent Hisaki Kato’s forehead with his elbow in tonight’s heavyweight contest, earning a third-round doctor stoppage. Kamiyama (9 wins, 3 losses, 9 wins, 3 losses RIZIN) withstood his opponent’s early body kicks and took over as the first round progressed, allowing Kato (8 wins, 4 losses, 1 win, 1 loss RIZIN) to overcome fatigue. I started to feel it. He stunned Kato with two hard punches early in the second round, then knocked him down before Kamiyama delivered a slashing elbow to Kato’s forehead near the end of the round. A cageside doctor checked Kato’s condition between rounds and allowed him to continue, but the wound was made worse by a well-aimed punch from Kamiyama, leaving Kato’s face covered in blood. At 1 minute and 11 seconds into the third and final round, the doctor called off the fight and Kamiyama won by TKO.
In the opening match of the main card, Kyoma Akimoto, a 18-year-old promising fighter who is attracting a lot of attention, maintained his undefeated streak with a well-deserved unanimous decision win over RIZIN mainstay Hiroaki Suzuki in the featherweight division. Akimoto (7-0, 2-0 RIZIN) landed a body lock takedown early in the fight and spent much of round 1 using punches and elbows on the ground to defeat Suzuki (4-5, 4-5 RIZIN). I continued to beat him. During the second round, the commentators noted that Akimoto has been training in boxing since the age of four and showed off his skills by repeatedly hitting Suzuki in the head with jabs and straight lefts. Suzuki also fights back with leg kicks, but his attacks are limited. In the final round, Akimoto knocked Suzuki down three times, then got back up and continued to throw punches. The match was decided by scorecards, and all three judges favored Akimoto’s seventh professional victory.
Midway through tonight’s event, former Road to UFC semifinalist Kim Kyung-pyo (14-5, 3-1 RIZIN) broke the winning streak previously held by Daigo Kuramoto (6-2, 0-1 RIZIN) stopped. 3 minutes and 59 seconds into the first round of the lightweight division, Kuramoto throws elbows and punches. Yuki Ito (17 wins, 5 losses, 7 wins, 1 loss RIZIN) corners Chung Hyun Lee (4 wins, 3 losses, 0 wins, 1 loss RIZIN) and finishes him off with an elbow at 2:59 of the third round, marking a winning streak. increased to 4. in a flyweight bout. Also in the flyweight division, Yuya Kondo (RIZIN 9-13-1, 2-3) won a deserved decision over Yuya Shibata (RIZIN 19-8, 1-1). Tony Laramie (10-2, 1-0 RIZIN) started his RIZIN flyweight career with an impressive unanimous decision victory over Yutaro Muramoto (12-9-2, 2-4 RIZIN) . Magheram Ghasanzadeh (10-0, 1-0 RIZIN) remained undefeated with a unanimous decision victory over Rikuto Shirakawa (12-10-1, 3-4 RIZIN) in the bantamweight division. Alan Yamaniha (22-11-4, 5-2 RIZIN) bounced back after a strong first round from the underdog Seigo Yamamoto (7-13-1, 0-2 RIZIN) and won three rounds. He then applied a rear naked choke to Yamamoto. Bantamweight bout, round 2 at the :07 mark. And Alibek Gadzhanmatov (5-0, 1-0 RIZIN) hits Daichi Kitakata (20-13-1, 2NC, 1-3 RIZIN) with a knee and punch at the 3:20 mark of the first round of the flyweight division. I stopped.
On the preliminary card, Yasuto Kubota (14-6, 1-0 RIZIN) overcame a submission scare in the first round of his bantamweight bout against Junya Hibino (7-5, 1-2 RIZIN). He scored a TKO stoppage 26 seconds into the round. 2; Shoji Inada (4-2, 1-0 RIZIN) forced Katsuyoshi Sasaki (6-9-1, 1 NC, 0-1 RIZIN) into a straight armbar just 98 seconds into the heavyweight bout. . Sho Hiramatsu (7 wins, 5 losses, 1 win, 0 losses RIZIN) slashes his featherweight opponent Daisuke Tatsumi (19 wins, 12 losses, 0 wins, 1 loss RIZIN) with an elbow strike, resulting in a doctor stoppage at 2:53 of round 2.
