The verdict in Conor McGregor’s civil case has prompted strong reactions from some of the biggest names in the martial arts world.
The High Court in Dublin ruled on Friday that McGregor was responsible for sexually assaulting Nikita Hand in 2018. Hand claimed that McGregor and James Lawrence raped Nikita Hand that night, but the court did not hold Lawrence responsible for the sexual assault. Notorious was ordered to pay 248,603.60 euros ($259,025) in damages. The former UFC two-division champion was not found guilty of any charges as it was a civil case. Breaking his silence on the matter, McGregor vowed to appeal the decision.
Former opponents Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier, who never had a good relationship with McGregor, reacted to the news.
‘The Eagle’ shared ESPN’s article about McGregor’s sentencing on social media. Meanwhile, ‘The Diamond’ reposted a tweet from a fan thanking him for knocking out McGregor in the past.
