The inaugural season of the Professional Fighters League Middle East and North Africa is coming to a close with four championship fights.
Despite some minor changes to the bill on the day of the weigh-in, all eight title contestants made it to the weigh-in safely. This show will serve as a qualifier for the 2024 Season PFL Championship event to be held later the same day. PFL MENA fighters will compete for gold in a five-round battle in welterweight, lightweight, featherweight and bantamweight divisions. Two athletes missed their weight. Lilia Osmani entered her amateur fight against Hattan Alsaif at 2.3 pounds over the atomweight limit. Their tilt turned into a 109-pound catchweight match. Jesus Pinedo reportedly weighed six pounds over the featherweight cap, according to MMA Fighting, and will replace Gabriel Braga in his fight against Jeremy Kennedy.
In the new highlight, Maraune Belaguit will take on Abdullah Al Qahtani for the PFL MENA featherweight title. Beraguit (6-1) will be looking to bounce back from his first career loss against Islam Reda. Meanwhile, Al Qahtani (9 wins, 2 losses) also suffered a loss by decision to Abdalrahman Alhyasat, who was scheduled for an “urgent health issue”. He withdrew from the main event. Both athletes were under the 145-pound weight limit.
PFL MENA 4 will air live on ESPN+ starting Friday at 7:15 a.m. ET/4:15 a.m. PT.
