Ian Garry (15-0) believes he upset Shavkat Rakhmonov (18-0) at UFC 310.
Gary and Rachmonov will meet in a clash of undefeated welterweight contenders at UFC 310 on December 7th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Despite both being undefeated, Rakhmonov is a -400 betting favorite compared to Gary’s +290 underdog status.
However, Gary vows to shock the world by taking out Kazakhstan’s “0” at UFC 310. The Irishman is also excited about the fight, as it’s rare in the UFC to see two undefeated fighters face off in such a high-stakes match.
“Everyone is pointing him out. [Rakhmonov] under. 18-0, 18 ends. That excites me,” Garry said on YouTube. “It doesn’t scare me, it excites me. Everybody in the world thinks that guy is the boogeyman of the department. I’m going to go out there on December 7th and everyone else’s I’m going to shock the world because in my world I’m going to beat him. What excites me about this fight is the fact that no one has solved this puzzle. No one has ever cheated, no one has solved my jigsaw puzzle, and we’re both going to go in there and try to solve each other’s puzzles, because that’s something you don’t see very often in the UFC. , I’m excited about that. It’s not often you get to compete against elite-level players at the undefeated stage. So I’m excited about this.”
Gary has only won three out of eight fights in the UFC, and his lackluster fighting has led to recent criticism. ‘The Future’ earned a unanimous decision win over Michael Page at UFC 303 in June of this year, but UFC CEO Dana White believes the fight should have ended in a draw.
Meanwhile, Rakhmonov has won all 18 of his career to date, including 10 by submission and eight by knockout. ‘The Nomad’ has dominated all six of his UFC appearances, including his most recent submission victory over Stephen Thompson at UFC 296 in December 2023.
