Gilbert Burns recently had an interesting conversation with Jamahal Hill.
After the showdown between Hill and Alex Pereira became a hot topic on social media, Burns was at the UFC Performance Institute helping teammate Vicente Luque lose weight when “Sweet Dreams” appeared. Burns shared Hill’s words on his YouTube channel.
“When food is in the pot for too long and becomes hard, you have to add water and cook it. That’s what I did,” Burns said, relaying Hill’s words.
[Prochazka] And before that, take revenge [Magomed] Who will Ankalaev be? [observing] Ramadan. I don’t care what people think, everyone is talking about me afterwards.
Burns also praised the way Hill handled his recent confrontation with “Poitan.”
“Like a lot of people, when I saw the video, I didn’t like what he did. But when I heard his story, I had to realize that Hill was a really smart guy, considering the scenario. “And if you’re talking,” Burns said. So, like me, you’re hooked on Hill’s marketing strategy and want to see him face off against Poitan again. β
UFC Fight Pass Brazil commentator Carlos Barreto agreed with Burns on his weekly program, “Papo de Ruta.”
“I’m an old-fashioned person. I don’t like that attitude, but…
[especially] Even though the guy kicked my ass, but considering Ankalaev isn’t the most exciting fighter, by making this… [storyline]Hill will be able to cut the line and get to the goal,” Barrett said.
Hill will face Prochaska at UFC 311 on January 18th at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. Barreto has “Sweet Dreams” as his favorite to compete against the Czech Republic.
βIn my opinion, Hill will win this fight and will give Poitan another challenge in the rematch, considering that Hill was unwell in the first fight due to serious surgery. No, he just fought. [to fulfill] UFC request to save the show. I was really impressed with what Hill did against Glover in a completely hostile atmosphere in Rio. He overcame many tough moments and defeated the true champions at home. If he can defeat Gili and rematch at his best, Poitan vs. Hill 2 will be a hell of a fight. β
