The first card of 2025 for Ultimate Fighting Championship is officially confirmed.
The promotion confirmed the 14-fight lineup for UFC Vegas 101 (also known as UFC Fight Night 249) in a release Tuesday. The card will take place on January 11th at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and will be headlined by a strawweight rematch between Amanda Rivas and Mackenzie Dern, while the co-main event of the night will see Chris Curtis take on Roman Kopylov in a middleweight clash. We will compete against each other.
Rivas, who defeated Dern by unanimous decision in their first encounter at UFC Fight Night 161 on October 12, 2019, has fought in both the strawweight and flyweight divisions in the UFC. The Brazilian suffered a five-round loss to 125-pound Rose Namajunas in the headliner of UFC on ESPN 53 in March.
Dern, a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, suffered a two-fight skid in her last fight, a three-round decision win over Lupita Godinez on Aug. 3 at UFC ABC 7. The 31-year-old RVCA representative has defeated the likes of Angela Hill, Tesia Pennington and Vilna Jandilova during her tenure with the promotion.
Curtis finished the 2021 season with a 1-1 record. He dropped a split decision to Marc vs. Andre Barrio at UFC 297 in January, and then dropped a split decision to Brendan Allen in the UFC Fight Night 240 headliner this April.
Kopylov has won his last five Octagon appearances. Most recently, he defeated Cesar Almeida by split decision at UFC 302 on June 1st.
