As for the PFL giving everyone two games this year, I really hope that happens and not because more games are cut.
I want PFL to be successful, it’s good for the sport and good for the fighters.
With that said, I would like to leave immediately. Can we agree to that this week? (2/2) https://t.co/Zvx4NS45H8 — Patricio Pitbull (@PatricioPitbull)

Patricio “Pitbull” Freire is not satisfied with the current situation under the Pro Fighters League banner, which acquired Bellator MMA in 2023.
For several weeks, “Pitbull” took to social media to express his frustration with the lack of activity seen in 2024, stating multiple times that he wanted to get out of his contract and compete elsewhere.
A source with knowledge of the situation told Sherdog.com that PFL has exceeded its contractual obligations with the 37-year-old featherweight champion. According to sources, “Pitbull” has signed a three-year, six-fight contract that expires in the spring of 2025. The Brazilian played exactly six matches during the contract period, and two more fell apart due to the loss of the scheduled opponents. It was pulled out.
Officials say PFL feels it has not only fulfilled its contractual obligations, but exceeded them, even though there are four months remaining on the contract. The official said that out of respect and to resolve the differences between the parties, the PFL recently offered Pitbull one more fight, which was described as a “massive” title fight, which Pitbull declined. said.
Freire acknowledged that his championship clause expires on May 1, 2025, but denied turning down the fight when contacted by Sherdog on December 24.
“I’ve never turned down a match,” he said.
Bellator will be rebranded to the Champions Series in 2024, and Freire took center stage when he appeared in the co-main event of Bellator Champions Series Belfast in March. Freire defeated Jeremy Kennedy by technical knockout in the third round, giving him 11 wins in title fights during the promotion’s run, which began at Bellator 15 in April 2010.
