Former light heavyweight champions Jiri Prochaska and Jamahal Hill were on a collision course for years before UFC 311, and they finally met on Saturday in Los Angeles.
While previous pairings fell through due to injuries, and both lost to 205-pound champion Alex Pereira in 2024, there has never been a better time to bring one man back to the team.
Prochaska changed her stance and started the match. Hill started the match with a clean shot and a combination. With two minutes left in the first round, Hill delivered a lead uppercut, and Prochaska landed a hard left straight that sent Hill flying to the canvas. Hill was able to recover, but continued to throw punches and load up. Hill finished the first round with difficulty breathing and bleeding from his nose. Your nose may be broken.
Prochaska was looking for a head kick early in the second round. Hill used hooks to bring Porchaska’s head forward and looked to land uppercuts and knees. Both fighters were aiming for a knockout and left themselves open for the other fighter’s attacks. Hill overextended his fingers and pierced Prochaska’s eyes very deeply. Other than the aforementioned Polk, Hill had a better showing in the second round. He started finding his reads and put a heavy left hand on Prochaska’s liver, which clearly bothered Prochaska.
Prochaska landed a strong counter shot, and Hill put on his skates on the third shot. Jamahal Hill regained his composure and reminded Prochazka that the force was coming. Late in the round, Jiri Prochaska landed a missile with a counter right hand that dropped Hill, and after more violence, Hill collapsed back to the canvas. That’s all she wrote. Hill struggled to get onto the stool after the stoppage.
Jiri Prochaska will definitely be keeping an eye on the fight between Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313. Meanwhile, it will be back to square one for Jamahal Hill.
Official result: Jiri Prochaska def. Jamahal Hill TKO (punch), round 3, 3:01
