Ahead of the UFC 300 press conference, updates regarding Conor McGregor’s return have been buzzing. The Irish MMA icon has been absent from the Octagon since 2021, when he suffered a serious injury against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. McGregor has since made a full recovery and is actively promoting his role in ‘Roadhouse,’ but the MMA world continues to wait for an announcement of his return.
“The Mack, aka The Notorious, will be returning to the UFC Octagon this summer,” McGregor said in an interview with ESPN during the film’s promotional tour. UFC CEO Dana White’s Instagram post further fueled expectations for McGregor’s return, with a short video shared on his Story showing McGregor walking with the caption “Soon.” However, it seems that the time for announcement has not yet come.

And according to Chael Sonnen, the situation is complicated. Because, “If Connor says yes and Dana says it’s not over yet, then we’re going to have Chandler confirm that it’s over, but he can’t confirm the date. Guess what?” Can you see it happening? Yes and no.
