Kyoji Horiguchi will get a chance to avenge one of his most notable losses at RIZIN 47.
Horiguchi (32 wins, 5 losses, 1 draw) will face Sergio Pettis (23 wins, 6 losses) in a bantamweight bout to be held on June 8th (local June 9th) at Yoyogi National Stadium First Gymnasium in Tokyo. Promotion officials announced that this is planned. announced Thursday night.

At Bellator 272, Pettis defeated Horiguchi with a spinning backfist to retain his bantamweight title. He defended the title against Patricio Freire at Bellator 297, but lost to Patchy Mix at Bellator 301.
Horiguchi won the inaugural RIZIN Flyweight Championship last December with a second-round submission of Makoto Takahashi. This will be his first return to the bantamweight division since September 2022.
