After the record-breaking UFC 300, action inside the Octagon resumes on Saturday, April 27th with UFC Fight Night: Nicolau vs. Perez, aka UFC Vegas 91, live from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Who will be fighting on the main card?
The main event of UFC Vegas 91 will feature a flyweight clash between Brazil’s Mateus Nicolau and Hanford, Calif.’s Alex Perez. No. 5 Nicolaou (19-3-1) is looking to get back into the win column after having his six-game winning streak snapped by Brandon Roybal last April. Former UFC 125-pound title challenger and No. 8 Perez (24-8) is also looking to get back on track after losing three straight.
The co-main event will pit Ryan Spann of Memphis, Tennessee, against Bogdan Guskov of Uzbekistan in a light heavyweight bout. Spann (21-9) lost his last fight to Nikita Krylov by first-round submission in March of last year. Guskov (15-3) defeated Zach Pauga by knockout in the first round in February.
The main card also includes a bout between all-Brazilian female flyweights Ariane Lipski (17-8) and Karine Silva (17-4). American heavyweight Austin Lane (12-4) will face Brazil’s Jonata Diniz (6-0). America’s Tim Means (33-15-1) will face Serbia’s Uros Medic (9-2) in a welterweight bout. Featherweight Jonathan Pearce (14-5) will face Uganda’s David Onama (11-2) in his home country.
Who will compete on the preliminary card?
At the top of the preliminary rounds, Brazil’s Lani Yahya (28 wins, 11 losses, 1 draw) and American Victor Henry (23 wins, 6 losses) will face off in the bantamweight division. In other bouts, American lightweight Austin Hubbard (16-7) will travel to Poland to face Britain’s Michal Firak (8-1). Dontare Mays (10-6) of the United States will face Brazil’s Caio Machado (8-2-1) in a heavyweight bout. The other U.S. vs. Brazil bout pits Marnik Mann (6-2) against Ketlen Souza (13-4) in the women’s strawweight division.
Additionally, American lightweight Gabe Green (11-5) will face Peru’s James Rontop (14-2). In the women’s flyweight division, Norway’s Ivana Petrovic (6 wins, 1 loss), who came by way of Germany, will face China’s Liang Na (19 wins, 7 losses). The card concludes with a lightweight clash between Mexico’s Gabriel Benitez (23-12) and China’s Heisael Maheshate (9-3).
