Ryan Garcia unleashes his hatred on Jake Paul in latest unfiltered rant
He appeared to be fooling the media and fans, but most importantly, he was fooling WBC light welterweight champion Haney and her father.
Ryan’s actions led Haney to remark the week of the game that “there was something wrong with Ryan.” We’ll never know if Garcia’s antics were Haney taking off the gas pedal in the build-up to the fight.
The bout took place at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, with Garcia winning by a 12-round majority decision. He seemed to be too fast and powerful for Haney, and Haney struggled throughout.
Garcia explains his strange behavior
Garcia spoke with Patrick Bett David after the fight and explained that he had been planning this stunt for months leading up to the fight.
“I pre-recorded it months ago with a cameraman, and I said, ‘I’m going to make you think I’m going to go crazy.'” I was planning it a few months ago. I don’t know why I came up with the idea, but I decided to go all in on my plan. Because of that, they underestimated me. You can make it look like anything is going on on social media. They were fooling themselves.
