Natalia Dyatchkova believes her next opponent, Smila Sander, has some holes in her game waiting to be exploited.
Diahakova will challenge for Sandel’s ONE Championship Women’s Muay Thai 125-pound title at ONE Fight Night 22 on May 3. Although Sandel’s achievements at the age of 19 are certainly worthy of praise, Dyakhova won the Russian National Adult Championship at just 16 years old. Years old, no awe.
“Her age doesn’t really matter. She won the national adult championship when she was 16 years old. But mentally she is still a child,” said Dyachkova.
While Sandel has looked nearly perfect so far in her career, Diatchkova pointed out that the 5-foot-10 champion enjoys a significant height advantage over her recent opponents. Diachikova believes his 5’7” height will be an issue for the relatively inexperienced Sander, who won’t be able to take full advantage of his height when passing each other. .
“Yes, her opponent was nearly 20 cm shorter, so fighting me would be a problem. If you don’t have enough experience and understanding of how to work with opponents of different heights, this It’s an important element in battle.”
Additionally, Diachikova believes she has many advantages over Sandel, including her “underrated” clinch game, which she hasn’t had a chance to show off yet.
“There’s a lot. I’m underrated in the clinch and in general in all the aspects that I haven’t had time to show yet. I’ll be fighting with tiny gloves on. I’ll miss one accurate punch and fall to the floor. I don’t see the point in fighting with the Thai boxing style, where you can get into trouble. My advantages are hard punches, a series of combinations, and experience in the ring.
When asked about her path to victory against “The Hurricane,” Diachikova once again referenced the apparent clinch advantage.
“She just uses her hands to get what she wants. I didn’t see her cool clinch work. I saw everyone. [being] I’m scared of her, but I’m not scared of her. She can win with strong punches, but you never know what will happen in the ring. Maybe I can beat her in a 5 round clinch, who knows? ”
