After back-to-back events with wild crowds, Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to UFC Apex with UFC Fight Night 241. The 12-fight event will be headlined by featherweight contenders Edson Barboza and Lerone Murphy. Both fighters are under the 146-pound weight limit for the main event, making the five-round fight official. All other fighters also managed to increase weight, keeping their cards intact.
This will be Barboza (24-11)’s fifth main event, but he is 1-3 in previous fights. However, the Brazilian continues his winning streak with a KO of Billy Quarantillo with a knee kick and a clear decision win over Sodiq Yousaf. The 38-year-old was going into his final run weighing 145.5 pounds.
On the other hand, this will be the first headliner match for “The Miracle”. Murphy (13-0-1) is undefeated inside the Octagon and has won five straight since debuting in a split draw against Zubaira Tukhugov. Since then, the British fighter has scored important wins over Joshua Culibao, Gabriel Santos, and scored a brutal knee KO of his own against Makwan Amirkhani. When the 32-year-old stepped on the scale, he weighed 146 pounds at that point.
UFC Fight Night 241 will air in its entirety on ESPN+ on Saturday. Preliminaries begin at 4:00 PM ET/1:00 PM PT, and the main card begins at 7:00 PM ET/4:00 PM PT.
