Adrian Lee is hoping to make his professional mixed martial arts debut at ONE 167 on Friday and make his presence known.
Li will have to live up to the family name when she makes her professional debut against Antonio Mammarella on 7 June in Bangkok. Li’s sister Angela Lee retired as the ONE Championship atomweight champion last year, while her brother Christian Lee currently holds the lightweight and welterweight titles. Her other sister, Victoria Lee, also had a promising future before sadly taking her own life in 2022.
Heading into his pro debut, Lee’s main goal is to make an impression by defeating his opponent as quickly as possible, and while he isn’t too keen on making a highlight reel, he doesn’t want to spend any more time in the cage than necessary.
“We’ve been pretty much focused on everything this whole camp. The main thing we’ve been focused on is getting the job done as quickly as possible,” Lee said. “We’re just going out there to make a statement. There’s no point taking any more time than necessary… My job is just to get it done.” [as] “As quickly as possible, in the first round, either by TKO or submission, whichever comes first. I’m not really concerned with the highlights or the media buzz. I’m just focused on finishing it as quickly as possible.”
At 18, Lee is the head of the Prodigy Training Center, named after her younger sister, Victoria. Despite the age difference, the two were very close and Lee hopes to be as strong-willed as her sister.
“My sister and I were very close. We were close in age, so we did everything together. We were always close… [she had that I hope I do] “Probably her determination. She was very goal-oriented, very determined and focused.”
