Aljamain Sterling (24-4) believes the UFC will regret not putting his fight with Movsar Evloev (18-0) on the main card.
Sterling and Evloev will clash in the preliminary round of UFC 310 on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The former UFC bantamweight champion wasn’t even part of the featured qualifying bout that night, with Dominick Reyes and Anthony Smith taking the spot instead.
Although Sterling was confused about his place on the card, he chose to look at the positive side of the qualifying fight. ‘The Funk Master’ is glad the match ended early and hopes he can enjoy the rest of the card and celebrate his win with his friends.
Both Sterling and Evloev are among the best featherweights in the world, but neither has the most fan-friendly styles. Both Sterling and Evloev have often been criticized for lackluster performances and lack of finishing on record. But Sterling believes both fans and the promotion will be in for a big surprise at UFC 310.
“I don’t know if I should have been insulted by the placement on the fight card or if I should have been insulted by the glass being half full. That’s the best way to look at everything in life. “I think so,” Sterling said on his YouTube channel. “You can fight faster, finish work faster, open a fresh bottle of Funk Harbor, hang out with friends, and celebrate big wins. Of course, I was a little confused by that. They have their own I think there’s a rhyme or reason to it, UFC brass, and it is what it is at the end of the day. It’s not my organization. I don’t have the power to make decisions. I just go out there and compete. And it’s up to me to go out there and prove them wrong. It depends on, “Hey, we’re the main card fighters.” I think people will be in for a very big surprise. And the UFC will realize, “We made a huge mistake by not putting this on the main card.” ”

Sterling’s bantamweight title reign ended with a knockout loss to Sean O’Malley at UFC 292 last year. Sterling then moved up to featherweight and earned a landslide decision win over Calvin Kattar in his weight class debut at UFC 300 in April of this year.
Meanwhile, Evloev has won his first eight bouts in the promotion, the most recent of which was against Arnold Allen at UFC 297 in January of this year.
