Assault charges against Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight boxer Cedricez Dumas were dropped during a plea agreement hearing Monday in Escambia County, Florida, court.
During the trial, the prosecution filed a notice of non-prosecution — a formal notice that they would not pursue the charges further. MMAjunkie.com was first to report the news.
Dumas was arrested on February 13 for allegedly slapping the mother of his child. The militant posted a video on Facebook showing the clash with police before he was detained.
“All charges against me regarding the domestic violence incident have been dropped. [f—k]
“Thank you everyone,” Dumas wrote in a now-deleted social media post. “People are calling me a womanizer for BM and everything else. Thank you to my lawyer Greg Wibbs. He is one of the best lawyers on my team and will always be on my team. Thank you Allah.”
Dumas has a lengthy criminal history that came to light prior to his UFC debut, including an incident in August 2022 where he allegedly punched a woman during an incident at a bar in Pensacola, Florida. The incident occurred just days before Dumas was scheduled to fight on Dana White’s Contender Series. According to police reports, the brawl spilled outside the bar and continued for several blocks. Dumas was accused of starting the fight and brandishing a firearm, but the incident ultimately closed without any arrests.
Dumas has a criminal history dating back to 2014 and includes arrests for shoplifting, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, trespassing on school grounds with a weapon or firearm, resisting arrest and obstruction without violence and domestic violence.
Dumas is coming off a first-round technical knockout loss to Nursulton Ruzhiboev at UFC on ESPN 54 on March 30. He was detained for 16 days during training camp leading up to that fight as a result of his arrest. Dumas recently indicated his next fight will take place on July 13, the date of the scheduled UFC Fight Night card in Denver. The Dana White Contender Series alumnus has a 2-2 record in UFC bouts.
