Five more months until Tyson and I go to war

A date once reserved for Mike Tyson now belongs to Mike Perry.
Perry has agreed to a boxing match against Jake Paul on July 20 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. The bout will be eight rounds at cruiserweight (200 pounds) and will be available on pay-per-view on DAZN. Paul was originally scheduled to face Tyson on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, but the bout was postponed until November 15 due to Tyson’s ulcer-related health issues.
“When the Paul vs. Tyson fight was rescheduled, I immediately knew I wanted to fight on Saturday, July 20th. Now, as I prepare for my bout with Iron Mike, there is no better opponent for me than Mike Perry,” Paul said in a release. “He is a proven knockout artist who has shown insane things in and out of the ring. This will be the best experience I can have before facing Mike Tyson. But with that experience comes risk, and those who know me know I am a risk taker. Platinum Perry may try to beat me, but I am Titanium Jake Paul and I fear no one. I intend to come out victorious and give everyone a preview of what I bring to the ring in my bout with Mike Tyson. Tune in to DAZN pay-per-view as I return to Tampa and bring Platinum Perry the Platypus back to bare-knuckle for good.”
Paul rose to fame as a YouTube personality before becoming a megastar in the mixed martial arts world. His 9-1 boxing record includes wins over MMA names like Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley (twice), Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz. Most recently, “Problem Boy” defeated Ryan Borland by first-round KO in March of this year.
Perry, 32, first rose to prominence in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, where he compiled a 7-8 record from 2016 to 2021. “Platinum” then became arguably the biggest star in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, where he compiled a 5-0 record and was the promotion’s 185-pound champion. His record also includes wins over Thiago Alves, Eddie Alvarez, Luke Rockhold, Michael Page, Julian Lane.
