Breach of contract
Shaw was in the midst of training a week before the scheduled fight, training various skills from ground control to energy conservation during his preparation. Part of Shaw’s frustration was that preparing for this fight came with an opportunity cost of time away from work and family.
Despite the postponement, Shaw sought the silver lining of learning new skills, working with a team of great coaches and improving his conditioning. Indeed, Shaw said his main reason for attending his fight was for the financial security it provided him and his family.
The 2024 Finishers Championship Qatar, to be held on February 17th, will still go ahead, with the exception of Shaw and other leading competitors who were originally scheduled to participate, according to the event’s official website. .
