After Dana White said he won’t get another shot at the lightweight title after Arman Tsarukyan withdrew from the main event of UFC 311, attention quickly turned to Islam Makhachev as the next frontrunner to take his belt. Charles Oliveira.
However, shortly after last Saturday’s event, Oliveira gave an interview to UFC Brazil and hinted at another rematch.
“If Islam wants to come back in October, we want to fight before then,” Oliveira said. “Why not Max? [Holloway] For BMF belt? I got injured early in the first match. I think we both deserve that. ”
Holloway immediately responded in the affirmative via X: “International Fight Week?”

Oliveira’s manager and head coach, Diego Lima, revealed all in an interview with Ag.Fight on Tuesday.
“The most important thing for Charles is definitely the belt, but he relies on Makhachev for that,” Lima said. “If he wanted to fight in June during International Fight Week, that would be an ideal world for us, but if he only wanted to fight in October, Charles would want to go a year without fighting. So the ideal situation would be to compete against Holloway for the BMF belt. These are two possibilities that we are currently working on. ”
Oliveira and Holloway first clashed on August 23, 2015 in the headliner of UFC Fight Night 74. Holloway won at the 1:39 mark of round one after Oliveira suffered an esophageal injury.
