Conor McGregor advises Sean O’Malley to train in the gym.
McGregor and O’Malley have been working together of late, but “Notorious” seems to be on top of that. Despite having spoken to ‘Suga’ several times, the Irishman is now inviting him to train in Ireland.
O’Malley lost his bantamweight title to Merab Dvalishvili in a lopsided decision at UFC 306 in September. O’Malley is currently recovering from hip surgery he underwent after UFC 306 and is pumped up for a rematch with “The Machine” next year. And McGregor believes O’Malley can regain the title if he trains under the guidance of head coach John Kavanagh at SBG Ireland headquarters in Dublin, Ireland. The former double champion is also ready to arrange travel for O’Malley and his longtime coach Tim Welch.
“Shawn is a legend in the fighting world! He’s a UFC champion and an incredible superstar! I’d love to see him. He’s totally set up. [for] himself and his longtime coach, Tim Welch; [to] On a mission in Ireland,” McGregor wrote in a since-deleted post on It’s true that he still has a chance to get it back, but both for himself and his coach, it’s not going to be long at first, but it’s going to take a long time for him to have a solid month under Cub Coach at SBG. It’s going to take some time. I’ll take the knowledge back and move forward to get the money back. I’d love to see it!”

O’Malley’s loss to Dvalishvili ended a seven-fight unbeaten streak that included four finishes. McGregor, on the other hand, hasn’t fought in over three years since breaking his foot in his third straight loss to Dustin Poirier in 2021.
