Ilya Topria has harshly criticized Conor McGregor after the Irishman brought up his name.
McGregor recently denied rumors of a fight with Topuria. Instead, the Dubliner claims he has struck an initial agreement with India’s billionaire Ambani family for a boxing match with YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul. However, “Notorious” still plans to return to the Octagon eventually.
“Rumors of a match with” [Topuria] “I have a preliminary agreement with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in an Indian boxing exhibition. We have agreed. Then I will seek a return to the Octagon.”

Mr Topuria grilled Mr McGregor over the Irishman’s recent loss in a civil suit in which he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman named Nikita Hand in an incident dating back to 2018.
“Rumors of a match with Muchkin are false,” Topuria wrote. “I don’t fight rapists, and I have no interest in fighting them.”

Dana White typically faces UFC fighters in crossover boxing matches, but the McGregor fight was an exception. The former two-time UFC champion fought Floyd Mayweather in 2017, but lost by technical knockout in the 10th round. Since then, McGregor has gone 1-3 in the UFC, winning his only welterweight bout against Donald Cerrone. McGregor hasn’t fought since breaking his leg in a three-fight losing streak to Dustin Poirier in 2021, but has been hinting at a return for nearly two years.
Meanwhile, Paul’s professional boxing record is 0 wins and 1 loss, with a split decision loss to fellow influencer KSI. He recently defeated former McGregor training partner Dillon Danis by “unsportsmanlike conduct” in an exhibition match. Paul competed in another exhibition boxing match with Mayweather in 2021, but it was ruled a draw.
