Drucker Klose hilariously accused Daniel Cormier of disrespecting him after his win over Joaquin Silva at UFC 301.
Klose won a hard-fought battle with Silva in front of a Brazilian home crowd in Rio de Janeiro, winning by unanimous decision. Klose accused Cormier of disrespecting him in the post-fight interview, a charge denied by DC.
Klose explained his accusations in the post-match press conference. When Klose called Paul Felder earlier in the week, he was performing media duties. Cormier, who was also present, said the only thing Klose could do if he had a chance of fighting Felder was to push the “Irish Dragon” against the cage.
Klose won the first round against Silva, but the subsequent rounds were much closer. Klose certainly recalled Cormier’s attack that pinned Sliva against the cage for a good portion of the later rounds.
“I called Paul Felder, and he [Cormier] I was like, “He’s everything.”
[Klose] I’m going to hold you [Felder] Towards the cage. ‘And when I was hugging him [Silva] As I was walking toward the cage, I thought, ‘F-fucking, this is what ‘DC’ was talking about,'” Klose said in the post-fight media scrum.
Klose would still be open to a fight with Felder, who hasn’t fought since November 2020.
“I wouldn’t mind fighting him. It might be the easiest fight because he’s been out for a while,” Klose said.
Klose also admitted that he was tired heading into the final round after clinching too much.
“What you said you would do to Paul Felder, you hugged him.” [Silva]
I hit the cage and gas came out,” Klose told Cormier in the Octagon. “I didn’t mean to, but he’s tough. He’s tough.”
Silva also named former foes Beneil Darish and Jalin Turner by name in his post-fight Octagon interview, and further explained those selections in the post-fight media scrum.
“Bennell, he got the win. He hit me. I want that back,” Klose said. “And Turner, I don’t believe he deserves to be in the top 15.”
