The middleweight championship rematch between Jonny Eblen and Fabian Edwards will not take place at Bellator Champions Series London as originally scheduled.
The promotion announced Tuesday that the bout will be reassigned to a future event to be announced in the coming days. Meanwhile, Bellator London’s women’s featherweight bout between Sarah Collins and Leah McCourt has been upgraded to the night’s main event. No reason was given for the postponement.
Bellator Champions Series London takes place at the OVO Arena in London on September 14th and will be broadcast in full on Max in the United States. Two other changes to the card have been announced: Joseph Luciano will replace Ross Houston; Stephen Hill will compete in a catchweight bout at 175 pounds, while a women’s featherweight bout between Eman Almudaf and Diane da Silva has also been added to the lineup.
Eblen defended his 185-pound belt for the first time with a third-round knockout win over Edwards at Bellator 299 in September 2023. The American Top Team alum is undefeated in 15 professional fights and is coming off a split decision win over Impa Kasanganay in a PFL vs. Bellator bout in February of this year.
Edwards bounced back from his loss to Eblen by defeating Aaron Jeffery by points at Bellator Champions Series Belfast on March 22. He has won four of his last five Bellator appearances.
Australian Collins won her first five professional fights, with wins over Pam Sorenson and Sinead Kavanagh under the Bellator banner.
McCourt has a 1-1 record in 2023, losing by unanimous decision to Cat Zingano before stopping Sara McMann in the first round.
