Former Bay Area lightweight champion Devin Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) successfully defended his WBC 140-pound belt for the first time. Los Angeles-based Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) is 3.2 pounds short of the required championship limit, so he won’t be eligible to claim the title even with a win. The contest is scheduled for 12 rounds.
In the 10-round co-main event, undefeated Arnold Barboza Jr. (29-0, 11 KOs) of Long Beach, California will take on Sean McComb (18-1, 5 KOs) of Belfast, Northern Ireland. The pair will fight for the WBO Intercontinental Super Lightweight title.
On the PPV undercard, Indio-based Uzbek super middleweight Bektemir Melikuziev (13-1, 10 KOs) will take on France’s Pierre-Hubert Dibombe (22-0-1, 12 KOs) in 10 rounds. Defended the WBA Intercontinental title. In a 12-round bout, John “Scrappy” Ramirez (13-0, 9 KOs) of Los Angeles and David Jimenez (15-1, 11 KOs) of Costa Rica will square off for the interim WBA super flyweight title. . The opening 10th round of the Super Welterweight PPV will pit Charles Conwell (18-0, 13 KOs) of Cleveland Heights, Ohio against Nathaniel Gallimore (22-7-1, 17 KOs) of Des Plaines, Illinois.
The main characters in the Haney vs. Garcia free qualifying round will be former three-time world title challenger Sergiy Derevyanchenko (14 wins, 5 losses, 10 KOs) and Ukraine’s Vaughn Alexander (18 wins, 10 losses, 1 draw, 11 KOs) against St. Louis, Missouri.
