Jake Paul appears to be very seriously considering making his MMA debut in PFL.
YouTuber turned professional boxer Paul (9 wins, 1 loss) will face Mike Tyson (50 wins, 6 losses) on July 20th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys. The event will be live streamed on Netflix.
Paul, who faced boxing legend Tyson, is aiming to make his mixed martial arts debut. He has his eyes set on either Jorge Masvidal or Nate Diaz, who he will face in a 10-round, 175-pound boxing match on June 1 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.
“When I say I want to fight these guys in MMA, I mean it very seriously,” Paul said in an interview. “B/S w/Jake Paul” Podcast. “Either Masvidal or Diaz, in the PFL there will be a $10 million offer for either one. Again, they will literally hide behind the facts…Masvidal: “You can’t even box.” MMA What the hell are you going to do come here? I’m from Miami, Florida, bro! Don’t disrespect me.
“Fucking bird brain, that’s what’s hiding behind him. Same with Paddy[Pimblett]and Sean Strickland, they’re all hiding behind all these crazy things, Still, no one comes up to the table and talks about anything to actually make anything happen for a real match, a real spar, whatever it is. So the offer still stands. I would love to see either of these guys compete in MMA.”
In a 10-round 185-pound boxing match in August of this year, Paul knocked Diaz down en route to a unanimous decision victory. Diaz is not currently signed to the UFC and Masvidal is, but Paul hopes to fight in MMA next with either of them.
“Of course we have Mike, but we can do it after that,” Paul said. “I’d like to go camping for about six months.”
