Jamahal Hill recently spoke with Magomed Ankalaev about the origins of his beef.
Hill will face Jiri Prochaska on January 18th at UFC 311 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California. The former champion recently fought Ankalaev, but Hill maintains that the fight with Ankalaev mainly started because the Dagestani fighter was annoyed. Ankalaev mocked Hill when Khalil Rountree earned a wild-card title shot against Alex Pereira at UFC 307 last month. Ankalaev faced Aleksandar Rakic at UFC 308 despite being widely considered a legitimate title contender. “Sweet Dreams” claimed that he was trying to defend Ankalaev when the Russians turned around and attacked him.
Why is Jamahal Hill crying? Pereira put you to sleep, so either you get back on track and work your way up, or get ready for Abu Dhabi because Rakic might be out.

“I would love to knock out Magomed myself, too, because to me he is a terrible person, he speaks badly, he has a terrible attitude,” Hill told Inside Fighting. So I want nothing more than to put him to bed. [The beef started] Because he has such a terrible attitude… I don’t even want to talk to this weirdo and he’s going to come and shoot at me because he’s so lame and he has a huge fan base. I see him kind of knowing, to me, it seems like he’s trying to ride that wave. He and some others do that, but he’s the cheapest guy to do it.
“Even when the Khalil Rountree vs. Pereira fight was announced, I thought it should have been Magomed. So I said that and this mother tells me I was crying. I was like, “Wait a minute, I’m just saying what I think, and you’re acting like that?” So fuck him. Want real beef? You can also make beef like this. Fuck you. ”
