A Bellator middleweight championship rematch between Johnny Eblen and Fabian Edwards has been added to the main card of the Professional Fighters League’s next pay-per-view.
The promotion announced the bout, which was originally scheduled to be the main event of last weekend’s Bellator Champions Series in London, on Tuesday, saying that Eblen vs. Edwards 2 will be held under the PFL banner, but the Bellator 185-pound belt will still be on the line.
“Battle of the Giants: Brace for Impact” will take place on October 19 at the Mayadeen Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will feature a heavyweight showdown between former UFC champion Francis Ngannou and 2023 PFL champion Renan Ferreira as the main event. In the co-main event, Bellator featherweight titleholder Cristiane Justino will face two-division PFL champion Larissa Pacheco at 145 pounds. The main card will air at 4 pm ET/1 pm PT and will be available on pay-per-view on ESPN+.
Eblen defended his 185-pound belt for the first time with a third-round knockout win over Edwards at Bellator 299 in September 2023. The American Top Team alum is undefeated in 15 professional fights and is coming off a split decision win over Impa Kasanganay in a PFL vs. Bellator bout in February of this year.
Edwards bounced back from his loss to Eblen by defeating Aaron Jeffery by points at Bellator Champions Series Belfast on March 22. He has won four of his last five Bellator appearances.
