Contender Series alum Mansour Abdul-Malik made his Octagon debut at UFC Vegas 100 against fellow DWCS veteran Dusko Todorovic.
Abdul-Malik had a perfect 6-0 record, while Todorovic started his UFC career at 3-4 and was looking to get back to .500.
The match didn’t last long and it was a great night for debutant Abdul Malik.
In the opening round, Dusko Todorovic advanced with a flurry of blows, but was dropped when he lunged at Abdul Malik’s counter punches. Todorovic was attacking with a leglock, but was forced to hit Abdul Malik at the top. They eventually recovered, but Todorovic still seemed shaken. Abdul Malik would land some big shots and drop Todorovic again, this time with a big knee to the middle. An extra hammer fist caused the referee to stop the match, giving Abdul Malik the victory in his debut. It took just over half a round for the newly debuting middleweight to seal the deal.
After his statement win, Mansour Abdul Malik said he wanted to remain the same person throughout his journey, hinting at even bigger moments to come.
Official result: Mansour Abdul-Malik def. Dusko Todorovic TKO (knee and GNP), round 1, 2:44
