This is the latest in a series of last-minute blows to the UFC Saudi Arabia card, with Ikram Aliskerov replacing Khamzat Chimaev in the main event against Robert Whittaker on nine days’ notice, Cedriquez Dumas replacing Abu Azaitar in a last-minute middleweight bout against Denis Tiuriullin, while the bantamweight match between Farid Basharat and Montel Jackson was called off due to Basharat’s withdrawal.
Bagdasarian bounced back from his first UFC loss to Joshua Coulibao to face Tucker Latz in July 2023, winning by unanimous decision. Bagdasarian was then scheduled to face France’s William Gomis at UFC Fight Night in February, but Gomis withdrew. Bagdasarian was scheduled to face unbeaten newcomer Haider Amir a week later, but “The Gun” was forced to withdraw due to injury.
