Michael Pereira vs. Ihor Potieria is a middleweight bout that will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024 in Rio de Janeiro as part of UFC 301. Pereira was originally scheduled to face Mahmud Muradov, who withdrew due to an infection. Potieria stepped in to save the day, even though he was set to fight Sharavdin Magomedov in June.
Michael Pereira vs. Ihor Potieria UFC 301 Before betting on the fight
Michael Pereira is only 30 years old, but has been fighting professionally for almost 13 years. Since he debuted in 2011, he has played 43 matches. The Brazilian has won seven straight fights in the UFC and now has a total of 30 wins, 11 losses, and 2 draws.
Five of those fights were at welterweight, while the last two were at middleweight. When he returned to the 185-pound division, he KOed Andre Petroski in the Octagon in just 66 seconds. And his most recent fight was a rear-naked choke defeat of Michal Olekszczuk.
Pereira is a versatile fighter with great striking, great wrestling, and great grappling. One potential problem ahead of UFC 301 was that he was preparing to fight kickboxing mastermind Mahmud Muradov.
His new opponent is Ihor Potieria (20-5), who is much more balanced than Muradov. This guy is a brawler who doesn’t mind getting attacked if it means he gets a chance to hurt his opponent. He’s also very dangerous on the floor, as evidenced by his six wins by submission.
Michael Pereira vs. Ihor Potieria UFC 301 Offshore Odds and Picks
Both fighters are great finishers, but I think this fight could last 15 minutes. Importantly, Pereira must not underestimate his opponent, who is bigger and stronger than most fighters he has faced. As for Potieria, he doesn’t want to suffer an injury that would force him to miss his fight with Shara Magomedov in June.
That being said, our Pereira vs. Potieria prediction is that the judges will decide the winner of the contest. And who will it be? I think it’s going to be Brazilian.
Nomination: Michael Pereira (Judgment)
