As anticipation builds for the Professional Fighters League’s pay-per-view event “Battle of the Giants,” fans now know the full lineup for the bouts taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on October 19.
The PFL announced its full lineup Thursday morning, which includes two big welcome bouts to the organization, a rematch for the Bellator MMA title and three title fights, including a clash between two of the sport’s top young fighters.
In addition to the high-profile matches previously announced, the league has announced a full 10-match slate for October 19th.
The PPV main card will feature Francis Ngannou vs. Renan Ferreira, Jonny Eblen vs. Fabian Edwards, Cris Cyborg vs. Larissa Pacheco, AJ McKee vs. Paul Hughes, as well as a featherweight bout between promising newcomers Hussain Kadimagomaev (11-1) and Zafar Mohsen (13-4).
The 24-year-old Kadimagomaev will make his Smart Cage debut against the 29-year-old Mohsen, who is also making his PFL debut. Kadimagomaev has finished 10 of his 12 fights by knockout, including six by knockout, and is coming off a hard-fought battle with Ultimate Fighting Championship star Khamzat Chimaev, who trains out of the All Stars Training Center in Stockholm, Sweden. Mohsen has won his last three fights by stoppage and has won seven of his last nine fights overall.
In addition to the five-bout main card, the prelims will feature a host of popular young fighters, including Bellator star Laufeon Stotts (20-2), who will make his PFL debut in nearly a year when he takes on Brazil’s Marcos Breno (15-3).
When the 2024 PFL Playoffs began in August, there were several notable non-postseason bouts early on in the card to give young talent a chance to make a name for themselves. Most notable among them was Dedrek Sanders, who made an impressive first-round knockout of Sergio Coccio in his debut. Sanders will return to the PFL on October 19 against Russia’s Artur Zainukhov (15-4).
The lineup is bolstered by two featherweight bouts, as Yousef Al Hosani (4-1) takes on Taha Bendaoud (3-0), and unbeaten prospects Ibragim Ibragimov and Nacho Campos join the action. A middleweight battle between two of PFL MENA’s biggest stars will see Mostafa Rachid Nada (9-3) take on Ahmed Sami (11-4-0, 1 NC).
