Episode 5 of “Road to UFC 3” came out on Friday, continuing the path to the big show for the 10 featured fighters.
For the past three seasons, the Road to UFC tournament has focused on Asian prospects, aiming to produce the promotion’s top talent. Essentially, the series is Asia’s answer to Dana White’s Contender Series and The Ultimate Fighter, and is something of a hybrid of the two. The tournament format is similar to TUF, but with an emphasis on fights without being confined to the TUF house.
Friday night’s episode of “Road to UFC” featured the flyweight and bantamweight semifinals, plus a featured bout featuring former Invicta FC champion Danny McCormack taking on Yang Chih-hui in an attempt to earn a spot in the UFC.
