Boxing champion Savannah Marshall will make her mixed martial arts debut in the main event of PFL Europe 2.
After the weigh-ins for PFL Europe 2 took place, the card for the latest Professional Fighters League was officially announced. Nearly all of the fighters on the card passed the weigh-in, with the exceptions of Dee Begley, who was 4.3 pounds under the flyweight limit, and Ayton de Pape, who was 1.5 pounds over the bantamweight limit. Begley failed to make the weight, forfeiting 30% of her prize money to her opponent Paulina Wisniewska and will enter the bout with a points deduction. Meanwhile, de Pape failed a medical exam, which resulted in the bout being cancelled and opponent Dean Garnett advancing to the PFL Europe playoffs while receiving both the show and win checks.
In the main event, Marshall, who has an impressive boxing record of 13 wins and 1 loss, will make her MMA debut against Mirella Vargas. Marshall may face her boxing rival Claressa Shields in MMA in the future. She became the first woman to defeat Shields in an amateur bout in 2012, but lost to her as a professional in 2022. Meanwhile, Vargas (1 win, 2 losses) is a 26-year-old fighter from Brazil.
PFL Europe 2 will be broadcast live on Dazn in Europe on Saturday at 12pm ET/9am PST.
