Sharavdin Magomedov believes that Alex Pereira’s style is nothing special.
Magomedov’s coach, Gol Azizian, recently faced backlash for saying that “Shara Barrett” was more exciting than Pereira. According to Azizyan, Magomedov has a more versatile striking game than the light heavyweight champion. Azizian also said Pereira’s nationality also played a role in his rapid rise to stardom.
“To be fair, Shara is more exciting than Alex Pereira” Azizian told Red Corner MMA. “Shala’s striking is more dynamic. Alex Pereira doesn’t have the technique: knees, elbows, heels, hands, low kicks, high kicks and how often. Shala does 60 low kicks, 30 middle kicks and high kicks in one match. He can fire 10 shots…I don’t see that in Alex Pereira. He’s close to America, he’s Brazilian. It’s easy to promote a Brazilian.”

Pereira recently successfully defended his 205-pound title for the third time with a technical knockout of Khalil Rountree at UFC 307 earlier this month. “Poitin” has seven of his nine wins in the UFC, including six title fights, all within three years of his debut in the promotion.
Magomedov, on the other hand, has three wins, including one finish, since making his UFC debut last year. “Shara Barrett” is scheduled to face Armen Petrosyan (9-3) this Saturday at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi at UFC 308, where he has a huge following. . The undefeated Russian also agrees with his coach that he is a more interesting player than Pereira. But he has the utmost respect for Pereira and believes he can learn a lot from the Brazilian’s rapid success.
“I think so. [my style is more entertaining]Why not? He doesn’t box or kick or do anything special,” Magomedov told Red Corner MMA. “His sidekick is a little bit out of the ordinary. He’s a great fighter and his fights are interesting. There aren’t many UFC fighters who can win a title this quickly. There’s a lot we can learn from him. He’s a great role model. .”
