It looks like Sharavuddin Magomedov has already decided on his next fight date.
Magomedov is one of the fastest rising stars in the UFC, thanks to both his personality and entertaining style. With a thick head of curly hair and vision in only one eye, the “Shara Baret” had a pirate-like appearance, and this image came to be associated with Dagestani people.
Magomedov most recently faced Armen Petrosyan in the main card opener of UFC 308 on October 26th in Abu Dhabi. Before the fight, Magomedov’s coach Gol Azizian declared that his fighter’s style was more interesting than that of light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira. Magomedov did his best to back up his coach’s statement with the first-ever double spinning backfist knockout in the first round, earning himself a “Performance of the Night” bonus in the process.
“Shara Barrett” continued to call out former champion Israel Adesanya during the post-fight Octagon interview. Azizyan recently revealed that Magomedov’s next fight date has already been set, but his opponent has not yet been confirmed. According to Azizyan, Magomedov is scheduled to have a rematch in Saudi Arabia on February 1, and his opponent could be the “last style bender.”
“Now everyone is happy, everyone is satisfied,” Azizyan told UDAR TV (translated via Instagram). “We are already preparing for February 1st. We don’t know the opponent yet, but we have already been given a fight. February 1st is Saudi Arabia. It could be Israel Adesanya. There’s nothing more “awesome” than this. ”
Magomedov has won two of his last four fights in the UFC, and came home with an extra $50,000 three times. The undefeated middleweight has only fought in the Middle East, as he has not yet been cleared to fight in the United States due to eye issues.
