Tang Kai and Akbar Abdullaev, ONE Fight Night 27 Weigh-in Credit: ONE Championship
The 2025 ONE Championship title fight begins at ONE Fight Night 27 on Amazon Prime Video, but scale troubles once again hampered the fight.
Multiple fighters failed weight and hydration tests before the card, with main event Muay Thai star Akbar Abdullaev’s mistake being the most significant.
According to promotion officials, “Akbar Abdullaev missed the weigh-in in his MMA featherweight bout and is therefore ineligible to win the ONE Featherweight MMA World Championship. He will give 20% of his purse to his opponent Tang Kai. ONE’s website has since been updated to show the main event as a non-title bout.
The night’s other title fight will proceed as scheduled, with Dennis Zamboanga and Alyona Lasochina battling it out for the interim mixed martial arts atomweight title.
