The fight is being promoted by Saudi authorities and will be the first card presented outside the Middle East.
A press conference to officially announce the match is scheduled for Wednesday in New York, the newspaper said.
Jermell Charlo made the decision to challenge 168-pound belt holder Canelo Alvarez in September and was named the WBA’s “dormant champion” of the 154-pound division.
Charlo had filed for sanctions to secure a fight with Madrimov. He later agreed to leave Crawford to face Madrimov. However, Charlo wants to return as a “super” champion, which would mean Madrimov would be demoted to a “regular” champion.
The WBA has not yet ruled on Charlo’s claims.
