Oumar Kane believes his win over compatriot Mamadou “Boucher Ketchup” Camara cemented the huge difference in the skillsets between the two fighters.
Cain and Kamala met in a kickboxing bout on Friday at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Thailand for ONE on Prime Video 23. Kamala was overwhelmed by “Lugu-Lugu,” but the ONE Championship heavyweight managed to knock him out at 2 minutes and 8 seconds into the first round.
The two had argued a few times before the fight, but to Kane it was just a fight.
“Yes, but this [just a] “It’s a game. In a game you go in with a hungry mindset and this is a game,” Kane said in his post-match press conference. [here] I’m always hungry. I need to beat this guy. This guy talks too much. [before] Fight.”
Kane noted that his opponent, a social media influencer who now lives in the Bronx, New York, still has a huge following in his native Senegal, and he wants his knockout win to show everyone he’s on a higher level than “Boucher Ketchup.”
“This fight ended in the first round, but this guy
[big following] “Everybody knows this guy in Senegal,” Kane said. “He’s a good guy. They have good wrestling in Senegal. But this guy [at] High level. Everyone knows this guy is [we’re
not on the] “The same high level. My boxing is a lot better now.”
Prior to his ONE Championship debut, Kamala competed in a solo amateur MMA bout in January 2022, winning by decision against an opponent named Diouf Dioulou.
Meanwhile, Cain, currently on a three-fight winning streak in MMA, will challenge Anatoly Malikin for the heavyweight title at ONE Championship 169 in Atlanta on November 8. The Senegalese star believes he has a variety of weapons in his arsenal that will make the bout against Malikin easier.
“I feel the same in my heart,” Kane said. “This guy talks too much. Inshallah, I beat this guy easily… I won. I can punch him, I can high kick him, I can do anything. [with my] Maybe wrestling, maybe jiu-jitsu. This is MMA, so it’s up to Mullikin. [can
happen] “In MMA.”
