The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Australia with a middleweight championship fight headlining the card.
Both champion and challenger were on time to weigh in for the main event grudge match: middleweight titleholder Dricus du Plessis at 185 pounds and former champion Israel Adesanya at 184 pounds. The other fighters on the 12-bout card also made it to the weigh-in, with the exception of flyweight mover Jesus Santos Aguilar, who was 1.5 pounds over the limit for his bout with Stewart Nicol. As a result, Aguilar will be fined a percentage of his prize money.

Du Plessis (21-2) is undefeated inside the Octagon. The South African fighter is riding an impressive nine-fight winning streak that included a title win over Sean Strickland and a TKO win over Robert Whittaker. “Stillnox” is looking to solidify his title claim at just 30 years old.
Adesanya (24-3) is looking to bounce back after losing his belt in a lackluster decision loss to Strickland. “The Last Stylebender” had won 12 straight UFC middleweight bouts, including two wins over rival Alex Pereira. A win would make Adesanya the champion for a third time.
