The UFC 312 lineup continues to take shape with the addition of a lightweight showdown between Tom Nolan and Viacheslav Borshchev and a featherweight tilt between Jack Jenkins and Gabriel Santos.
The Las Vegas-based promotion announced the pairing on Tuesday. UFC 312 will take place on February 8th at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia, and will feature a middleweight title rematch between Dorikas du Plessis and Sean Strickland. In the co-main event, Weili Zhang will defend her strawweight belt against Tatiana Suarez.
After suffering his first career loss in his Octagon debut, Nolan bounced back with back-to-back wins over Victor Martinez and Alex Reyes-24199″>Alex Reyes-427185″>Alex Reyes. The 24-year-old from Brisbane, Australia, has won eight of his nine professional fights, including five by KO or TKO.
Borshchev has experienced mixed results with the promotion since earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series. The 32-year-old Team Alpha Male representative is 3-3-1 in the Octagon, coming off a split decision win over James Rontop in his most recent UFC appearance at ESPN 62 in August.
Jenkins, a native of Melbourne, Australia, has won three of his first four fights in the UFC. He earned a third-round technical knockout victory over Herbert Burns at UFC 305.
Brazil’s Santos earned his first win in the promotion on Sept. 7 at UFC Fight Night 242, defeating Zia Yi. The Legacy Fighting Alliance veteran started his tenure with back-to-back losses to Lerone Murphy and David Onama.
